BLENDING OLD AND NEW
This Sitting Room was designed to elegantly unite the home’s original Georgian architecture with a 1970s extension. We introduced period details with a bespoke cornice and panelling, improved flow by removing a structural column, and added a Georgian-style bay window to flood the space with light. Bespoke joinery creates a refined focal point around the TV, resulting in a bright, balanced room where two architectural eras blend seamlessly.
Reintroducing decorative wall panelling was key to concealing an unused door to increase the useable space in this Georgian home.
A new Georgian bay window transforms the seating area of this large living space, celebrating garden views and original period features.
Custom built joinery, reflecting the wall panelling opposite, introduces a much needed focal point to the room.
